What's New ? Updated 4/22/11
It all started around 40 years ago when my mother placed the
water colors in my hands. And since then I've been doing one form of art
or another. I grew up in New York City where I was frequently in the company
of my mothers artist friends. Painters, writers, and poets, that influenced
my early years, Some of these talented people included......Jane
Freilicher, Red
Grooms, Larry
Rivers, Alex Katz, John
Ashbery, Barbara
Guest, James
Merril, John Myers, Herbert Machiz, Lee Krasner,
Theodore White, Robert Goodenough, among many others.
Basically I am self trained, although I did attend a woman's art school
called Wykeham Rise for my high school experience and Boston's Museum School
for some college. Currently, I am really excited by computer graphics. I
also do Monotypes at a local printshop . And thanks to an old passion
in rubberstamping I am also involved
in a rather underground kind of art called Mail Art.
I coined my name Dragonfly Dream back in 1994
and have been known as such since then. I make Artistamps
(faux postage) that are used along side of US Postage stamps.
"I am for an art that is political-erotical-mystical, that does something
other than sit on its ass in a museum." Claes Oldenburg
